Duties
- Guide engaging after-school activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and respectful environment
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and staff to support each child's unique needs and progress
- Maintain a clean, organized activity space that encourages creativity and learning
- Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral concerns
- Lead sports coaching, arts projects, theater activities or tutoring sessions to enrich the program experience
- Foster positive relationships with children by demonstrating patience, encouragement, and active engagement
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting is highly valued
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and childhood development principles
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and families
- Ability to manage behavior with patience and professionalism in a lively environment
- Passion for working with students and supporting their growth through creative teaching methods
- Demonstrated ability to lead activities such as sports coaching, theater productions or childcare programs
