The Dog Daycare Attendant & Receptionist is responsible for supervising group play, ensuring the safety and well-being of all dogs, providing basic care, and assisting with customer service duties at the front desk as needed. This dual-role position requires strong observation skills, an outgoing and professional demeanor, confidence handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and a commitment to positive reinforcement handling methods.

Supervise group play and individual dogs to ensure safe and appropriate behavior

Engage dogs in enrichment activities, structured play, and outdoor adventures

Monitor and evaluate dog behavior; intervene calmly and safely when needed

Feed dogs according to owner instructions and administer medications when authorized

Document incidents, behavior notes, and daily activities

Clean and sanitize play areas, kennels, equipment, and outdoor spaces

Follow all safety protocols and uphold Into The Woods Canine’s standards of care

Greet clients and provide warm, professional customer service

Assist with check-in/check-out procedures for daycare, boarding, and training services

Answer phone calls, emails, and messages; schedule appointments and manage reservations

Maintain accurate client records in scheduling/management software

Process payments, invoices, and package redemptions

Communicate dogs’ behavior, activities, and any incidents to owners clearly and professionally

Assist with intake forms, vaccination record verification, and new client onboarding

Keep the reception area tidy, organized, and welcoming

Strong love for dogs and comfort working with multiple dogs at once

Prior experience in dog daycare, reception, customer service, or animal care (preferred but not required)

Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor

Ability to multitask in a busy environment and remain calm under pressure

Familiarity with scheduling systems or willingness to learn digital management software

Ability to work on your feet, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in varying weather
