Server Assistant – NIKU X NYC

Join the team at NIKU X as a Server Assistant and play an essential role in delivering an elevated dining experience within our high-energy, luxury Japanese yakiniku concept. We are seeking hospitality-driven individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for exceptional guest service.
As a Server Assistant, you will support the front-of-house team by maintaining cleanliness, organization, and seamless table service throughout the dining experience. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within the hospitality industry while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on excellence and guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support servers and captains by bussing and resetting tables promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, service stations, and restaurant equipment throughout service.
- Assist with food running and table maintenance while ensuring all dishes are presented professionally and accurately.
- Refill water, clear plates, and anticipate guest needs to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Communicate effectively with servers, hosts, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist with opening and closing side work duties as assigned by management.
- Uphold all health, sanitation, and food safety standards in accordance with restaurant policies.
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance consistent with NIKU X NYC standards.
- Provide attentive, courteous, and knowledgeable hospitality to every guest.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of restaurant or hospitality experience required, preferably in an upscale or high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
- Understanding of basic food handling and sanitation practices preferred.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude, sense of urgency, and willingness to learn and grow within the company.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move restaurant equipment as needed.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
