Salary: $90,000-$115,000 annually + benefits
This position supports projects throughout the United States. Current active projects are located in California, Washington, Kentucky, and Tennessee; however, assignment to these locations is not guaranteed. Candidates must be willing to travel and relocate as needed for project assignments, which may range from several months to multiple years in duration.
Our client operates in a niche market providing overhaul and rehabilitation services to hydro power plants. We are seeking a strong QC professional with project experience in hydro power or industrial construction environments. This is not a corporate quality management role. The position is 100% construction site-based, with occasional travel to an office for training or meetings.
Responsibilities
- Ensure fulfillment of quality requirements on site according to contract requirements, company quality processes, and installation & commissioning manuals.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customer site representatives on quality matters.
- Monitor the performance of the quality system on site.
- Represent the company’s quality interests through full-time site presence.
- Review upcoming work to ensure inspections are planned with appropriate resources and tools.
- Prepare and coordinate installation quality documentation.
- Coordinate and perform site inspections and testing activities.
- Manage site non-conformities, corrective actions, and closeout activities.
- Prepare and maintain site quality records and final quality documentation.
- Manage drawing revisions, installation manuals, and quality files.
- Control calibration records and inspection tracking documentation.
- Manage handling and storage of contract materials located on site.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Material Science, or related field).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the hydropower industry or equivalent industrial construction environment.
- NDT/NDE related technical experience.
OR
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in the hydropower industry preferred or equivalent industrial construction/manufacturing experience.
- CWI certification, or education and experience required to qualify for certification.
- Working knowledge of ASME and AWS Codes.
- NDT/NDE related technical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level II certification experience in RT, UT, PT, and/or MT.
- Laser metrology experience with machined parts.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for reporting and documentation.
