A. POSITION SUMMARY
The QI Specialist/ Department Assistant is responsible to assist with the development and implementation of the quality improvement program as well as coordinate and provide support to the Quality Improvement Department.
B. POSITION DUTIES
- Works collaboratively with QI Department to assist in the management and development of systems for documentation and tracking related to incidents, training and surveys.
- Conducts follow-up quality improvement surveys based on QI surveys completed by the QI Specialist in all CP Unlimited –Hudson Valley Day and Residential Programs, Incident Management and Article 16 Clinic.
- Conducts other internal QI surveys as requested by supervisor.
- Conducts on-going review process of Plan of Corrective Actions (POCAs) and Corrective Action Plans for incidents (CAPs) as needed.
- Responsible for assisting and supporting the QI Department as needed with investigations, incident management, trend reports and training.
- Performs duties including word processing, faxing, scanning and filing.
- Participates and assists in external surveys as needed.
- Compiles data from internal and external surveys. Prepares and distributes a written report identifying trends and systemic issues as requested.
- Maintains knowledge with regulatory changes and agency policies and procedures with Director of QI.
- Works collaboratively with CP Unlimited Hudson Valley management and program staff on the development of strategies and systems, as appropriate to correct identified issues.
- Maintains calendars for the QI Department.
- Completes written reports as requested by Director of QI.
- Maintains confidential and sensitive information regarding CP Unlimited Hudson Valley Division.
- Participates in standing committees, meetings, as assigned including preparing agendas for meetings and records minutes as needed.
- Performs all other duties, as assigned.
C. REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years experience in developmental disabilities and /or with OPWDD regulatory compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of City, State and Federal regulations governing the operation of intermediate care facilities, individual residential alternatives, day habilitation programs, supported employment, HCBS Waiver programs and Article 16 Clinics.
- Minimum two years office support experience. Under the Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office, Excel, & Adobe.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently and have good communication skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the CP Unlimited residences and programs.
- Able to work flexible hours and/or days as necessary.
- Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
