Respite Providers provide temporary care of youth and young adults within your own home or in the community in order to provide support to their primary caregivers. Respite Providers are paid a daily rate based upon the client’s needs and the services required. Provider must have a spare bedroom in their home, and have to pass a home safety inspection. If you are considering doing Foster Care, then become a Respite Provider first in order to get a real feel for the role of a care provider of special needs youth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 21 years or older
- 2 year of experiences providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities, emotional behavioral concerns, and mental health in a group home or foster care setting.
- Home must pass safety inspections
- Must have a spare bedroom with a spare bed.
- Valid First Aid and CPR
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio driver license with less than six points
- Valid Automobile Insurance
- Valid First Aid and CPR
- NO prior history of Abuse, Neglect, or Dependency with Children Services
- Wheelchair accessible is a plus
