Lead Service TechnicianPosition Summary
The Lead Service Technician is responsible for providing advanced technical support within the service department while maintaining a high standard of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction. This position performs complex diagnostics and repairs on Kubota equipment, including tractors, construction equipment, turf equipment, implements, and 2-stroke power equipment. The role works closely with the Service Coordinator to prioritize shop workflow, monitor repair progress, support warranty processes, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure repairs are completed efficiently and correctly.
Primary Responsibilities
· Diagnose, repair, and maintain tractors, mowers, construction equipment, implements, and handheld power equipment.
· Perform advanced troubleshooting of diesel, gasoline, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
· Assist in scheduling and prioritizing shop work to meet customer and dealership expectations.
· Monitor work in progress and provide technical assistance to technicians as needed.
· Inspect completed repairs to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with manufacturer standards.
· Support warranty claim preparation by ensuring proper diagnostics, documentation, and repair procedures.
· Assist customers with equipment concerns, repair recommendations, and service-related questions.
· Maintain accurate repair orders, technician notes, labor entries, and supporting documentation.
· Coordinate effectively with the Parts Department, Service Coordinator, and Service Manager to ensure efficient workflow.
· Maintain shop organization, housekeeping, and professional standards.
Safety Responsibilities
· Promote and maintain safe work practices throughout the service department.
· Ensure compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer requirements, OSHA regulations, and applicable safety standards.
· Identify and address unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or work practices.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
· Support ongoing safety awareness and training initiatives.
Qualifications
· Minimum of five years of experience in agricultural, turf, construction, or outdoor power equipment repair.
· Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and 2-stroke engine repair.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service information.
· Experience with manufacturer diagnostic software preferred.
· Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
