American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care/SNF night shift position at a nursing home attached to a hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience with elderly populations.

Work setting is a 70-bed nursing home (majority private rooms) attached to a hospital, classified as a post-acute/LTC/SNF care setting
-
Patient population includes elderly residents with dementia, frailty, and rehabilitation needs
-
RN-to-patient ratio is 1:20
-
Common procedures include IV therapy, catheterizations, ostomy care, medication administration, and clinical assessments
-
IV therapy and titratable drips are utilized on this unit
-
EMR system is ECS (transitioning from Cerner to Epic)
-
12-hour night shifts on a block schedule
-
Every other weekend required
-
Floating is required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Active WI or compact RN license required by start date
-
Current BLS certification (AHA) required
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Prior experience working with elderly patients required

IV therapy experience required
-
Responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge nurse duties, medication administration, and hands-on clinical skills (IVs, catheters, ostomy care)

Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and RT (on-site 24/7)

On-site pharmacy and physician availability after hours

Scrub color must be any solid color, clean and professional

Must be available for at least half of holidays during the assignment

Orientation length varies based on individual skills

Candidates who were previously permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their application date

Candidates residing within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be eligible at a reduced travel pay rate

2 professional references are required for consideration: 1 from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience and 1 from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years of relevant experience
