Frontiers Learning Center is seeking a Lead Teacher to join our educational team. We are an emerging name in STEM-focused early childhood education in Manassas and dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. Your Role
As a Lead Teacher, you will be the heart of your classroom, creating a warm and engaging learning environment while ensuring the highest standards of care and education. You’ll mentor assistant teachers, build strong relationships with families, and implement a curriculum that sparks curiosity and joy in every child.
Lead Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate, STEM-based lesson plans aligned with Virginia Early Learning Standards.
- Provide direct supervision, care, and positive guidance to children in your classroom.
- Provide early intervention strategies for children requiring additional support.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of children's development and maintain accurate records.
- Foster strong communication and partnerships with parents/guardians through daily updates, conferences, and events.
- Mentor and guide Assistant Teachers and classroom aides.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations (VDSS) and center policies.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and center events.
What We Require
Lead Teachers Must Haves:
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field OR a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR Virginia Early Childhood Credential OR significant coursework in ECE.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Teacher in a licensed childcare setting.
- Deep understanding of child development principles (birth-5 years).
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
- Clear criminal background check and Child Protective Services (CPS) check.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Highly Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Experience with various types of curricula.
- Familiarity with Virginia licensing standards (VDSS).
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Hindi, Chinese etc.).
