Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Breakfast Attendant to join our hospitality team and ensure an exceptional morning experience for our guests. The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast items, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area, and providing outstanding guest service. This role is vital in creating a welcoming atmosphere, supporting food safety standards, and delivering prompt, friendly service to start each guest’s day positively. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for hospitality.
Duties
- Prepare and serve breakfast items according to established recipes and presentation standards, including beverages such as coffee and juice.
- Set up the breakfast area, ensuring all stations are stocked with necessary supplies, utensils, and condiments.
- Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste disposal efficiently.
- Take guest orders accurately using POS systems such as Aloha or Micros, and deliver timely service with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments via POS systems, and provide receipts while maintaining proper cash handling procedures.
- Ensure food safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as basic cooking or assembling breakfast items and supporting catering or banquet functions as needed.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and delivery.
- Uphold high standards of customer service by greeting guests warmly, addressing inquiries professionally, and fostering positive guest relations.
- Support team members with general cleaning duties to maintain a safe and inviting environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service roles such as host/hostess, server, or catering assistant is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience operating POS systems like Aloha or Micros is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage courteously with guests and team members.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Basic culinary skills including beverage preparation, dishwashing, and meal assembly are desirable.
- Knowledge of cleaning protocols to ensure health standards are met consistently.
- Prior experience working in hotels or restaurants enhances familiarity with hospitality operations.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, or holidays as required.
