Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Furniture Upholsterer - Outsiders & Trimmers to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into beautifully finished furniture pieces by applying expert upholstery techniques, repairing and reupholstering existing furniture, and interpreting detailed technical drawings. Your craftsmanship will ensure each piece meets high standards of quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of fabric materials, leather, and woodworking components in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Upholster furniture pieces using a range of upholstery techniques, ensuring precise fitting and finishing.
- Interpret blueprint specifications and technical drawings to accurately cut fabric and leather materials for upholstery projects.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and sewing techniques to assemble and repair furniture components.
- Cut fabric materials manually with precision to match design specifications while maintaining attention to detail.
- Perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or bulky furniture parts, adhering to manual handling safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to assemble furniture frames using woodworking skills and ensure quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in upholstery with a strong understanding of upholstery techniques.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specification sheets related to furniture manufacturing.
- Skilled in manual cutting of fabric and leather materials with high attention to detail for accurate fitting.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, sewing machines, and sewing techniques used in upholstery work.
- Knowledge of fabric materials, leather handling, woodworking processes, and assembly methods relevant to furniture production.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining physical stamina for demanding tasks throughout the workday.
- Strong focus on quality control and attention to detail to ensure finished products meet design specifications and durability standards.
