Summary:
Provides support and works as a mortgage loan processor in the residential mortgage department processing loans from initial application to underwriting to loan closing. Assists Residential Mortgage Underwriter (RMU) in reviewing, verifying, validating and clearing all loan application data information. Assists mortgage lending team in increasing mortgage loan portfolio by supporting the Mortgage Lending Officers and RMU in completing mortgage loan responsibilities, working loan pipeline, and working with the mortgage customers to fulfill the mortgage loan application document requirements. Responsible for assisting in all mortgage loan portfolio markets, specifically: Muskingum County, Licking County, Guernsey County, and surrounding markets
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Assists residential mortgage loan department with the accumulation of all required mortgage loan documentation pre and post closing needs.

Answers mortgage loan questions as needed.

Provides support for all employees in the residential mortgage loan processing department including back up roles for construction loan draws, vacation coverage, reports, loan file stacking, etc.

Works with the Residential Mortgage Underwriter (RMU) to examine, evaluate, authorize, and recommend approval of customer mortgage loan applications for residential real estate loans.

Assists in confirming mortgage loan worthiness by examining application and supporting documentation; reviews credit-worthiness; calculates repayment risk and other aspects of the underwriting and loan approval process.

Completes residential mortgage loans by monitoring collection, verification, and preparation of mortgage loan documentation; schedules and completes mortgage loan closing documentation, clearing loan conditions along with other facets of the mortgage loan process.

Handles all functions in processing a residential mortgage or residential 2nd mortgage including but not limited to ordering services (title, appraisal, flood, etc.), prepares early disclosure documents, prepares closing disclosures, obtaining Homeowner insurances, etc.

Protects Company image by keeping mortgage loan information confidential, and following the strict industry compliance laws.

Works with RMU and the System Administrator to maximize the Loan Origination System (LOS) software capabilities.

Becomes a LOS expert and suggests adds, modifications, and changes to the LOS as needed.

Acts as back up underwriter to RMU for all residential mortgage loan applications.

Education, Training and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
