Children’s Mercy Camber Olathe is seeking a compassionate, confident, and team-focused leader to join our residential and psychiatric care team as a Team Supervisor. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment for both patients and staff while supporting treatment engagement and positive outcomes.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced behavioral health setting, leads with empathy and accountability, and is passionate about mentoring direct care staff while supporting children and families through challenging moments.
Provide daily leadership, supervision, and support to direct care staff
Maintain a physically and emotionally safe environment for patients and employees
Oversee active treatment programming and patient engagement activities
Conduct unit huddles and communicate patient treatment and safety needs to staff
Monitor staffing needs throughout the day and adjust schedules accordingly
Support staff through coaching, training, performance feedback, and professional development
Ensure documentation, incident reports, and patient progress notes are completed accurately and on time
Lead crisis intervention and emergency safety situations with professionalism and sound judgment
Promote trauma-informed care practices and organizational culture
Collaborate within an interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient success
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, accrediting standards, and safety procedures
High School diploma required
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Education, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related field preferred
Two or more years of direct care experience in a residential and/or psychiatric hospital setting, management experience, or a combination of education, management, and direct care experience
Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills required
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and crisis management abilities
Ability to effectively mentor, coach, and support staff in a high-acuity environment
Shift Differentials:
Shift differential $2 more, weekends - $3 more, evenings - $2 more, overnight
