Purpose of the Role:
The Accounting & Amazon Chargeback Specialist is responsible for supporting the company's daily accounting operations while managing Amazon chargebacks, deductions, and account reconciliations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across Customer Service, Operations, and Sales to ensure financial accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. The ideal candidate possesses a solid accounting background along with preferred experience navigating Vendor Central.
Ideal Profile:
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
- Experience with Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, or Amazon chargeback management preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar systems preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and reconcile daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and credit card accounts, general ledger activity, and Amazon payments and deductions.
- Assist the Controller to prepare journal entries and support month-end and year-end close processes, financial reporting, and account analysis.
- Manage the full Amazon chargeback and deduction process, including reviewing, investigating, disputing, and resolving shortages, chargebacks, and invoice discrepancies.
- Prepare accurate and timely dispute documentation, including invoices, proof of delivery, shipping records, and other supporting documentation.
- Track open disputes and recovery activity while communicating with Amazon support teams to resolve outstanding issues.
- Analyze chargeback and deduction trends to identify root causes, financial impact, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborate with warehouse, shipping, customer service, sales, and other departments to identify issues and implement solutions that reduce future chargebacks.
- Prepare reports and provide financial and chargeback analysis to support business decisions and improve recovery results.
- Maintain accurate financial records, supporting documentation, and confidential company information.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and Amazon Vendor Central requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
