Job Title: General Labor - Production Associate
Reports to: Production Supervisor Department: Production
Classification: Non-Exempt
Summary: The Production Associate supports the production process by performing manual tasks along the production line. This role helps ensure efficient product flow through various stages of assembly, packaging, and preparation, while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform manual production tasks such as sorting, assembling, filling, and packaging food products with consistency and attention to detail.
- Handle raw materials and finished goods to ensure smooth product flow along the production line.
- Perform visual quality checks for defects or inconsistencies and report issues promptly to the supervisor.
- Work efficiently to maintain productivity and production flow in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare products for shipment by labeling, sealing, and packaging according to company specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all sanitation and GMP requirements are met.
- Collaborate with machine operators and quality teams to maintain production efficiency.
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and report safety concerns immediately.
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and participate in required food-safety and safety training.
- Assist with raw material or packaging replenishment as directed by the supervisor.
- Communicate product or line flow issues promptly to the supervisor.
- Participate in daily team meetings and safety briefings.
- Participate in required food-safety, quality, and safety training.
- Follow written and verbal instructions from the supervisor and communicate effectively with other team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience working on a production line, especially in a food manufacturing environment, is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or move materials up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Attention to detail, particularly in product handling and packaging.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with other production staff.
- Understand the Good Manufacturing Practices and attend all mandatory trainings provided/required.
Work Environment:
- Production line environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Standing for long periods and performing repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
- PPE required per company policy
