Duties
- Safely operate hydrovac trucks and other heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes to perform excavation and utility locating tasks in compliance with federal construction safety regulations.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on hydrovac machinery and other construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety procedures are followed.
- Accurately locate underground utilities using specialized utility locating tools before excavation begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety.
- Execute precise construction grading, trenching, and utility installation work according to project specifications.
- Follow all equipment safety procedures, safety regulations, and site-specific protocols during daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, site managers, and utility companies to coordinate work activities efficiently.
- Maintain detailed logs of daily operations, equipment maintenance records, and safety inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record; experience driving heavy trucks preferred.
- Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks along with heavy machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance of construction machinery and troubleshooting issues promptly.
- Construction site experience with familiarity in excavation, utility locating, grading, and utility work.
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations (OSHA standards) and equipment safety procedures.
- Ability to operate construction machinery including excavators, backhoes (loader operation), and Caterpillar equipment confidently.
- Construction utility work experience demonstrating understanding of underground infrastructure installation or repair projects.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and adhering to safety protocols on busy sites.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy materials, working outdoors in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
