Pay Rate: $62.00 per hour, plus full benefits package for full time.
Job Summary
DT-Trak is building its clinical team for a federal occupational health nursing program supporting the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), contingent upon contract award. We are seeking Nurse Practitioners to lead complex medical record reviews, fitness for duty determinations, and case management for TSA employees and applicants. This is a hybrid role: after an initial month of onsite training at TSA Headquarters in Springfield, VA, providers report onsite approximately once per week, with the remainder of work performed remotely using government furnished equipment.
Responsibilities
- Review complex, abnormal, or non-standard medical cases and advise Registered Nurses and physicians on determinations
- Conduct advanced fitness for duty evaluations and prepare determination letters for physician review and signature
- Review medical examination records and history to recommend pass/fail medical qualification determinations
- Contact employees or applicants to discuss medical concerns and request additional provider information
- Document all actions and outcomes accurately and completely in the program's medical records system
- Respond to internal and external inquiries within 24 business hours
- Support EEO case reviews, litigation-related documentation, and affidavit response drafting as needed
- Recommend and document process improvements on a quarterly basis
Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Minimum of 5 years of direct, relevant experience in clinical practice, occupational health, and advanced case management, including medical review, fitness for duty evaluations, and complex medical determinations
- Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a multistate license recognized under the Nurse Licensure Compact, meeting Virginia Board of Nursing requirements
- Ability to pass a federal public trust background investigation (processing typically 44–54 days)
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills; comfortable managing escalated and complex cases
- Reliable ability to report onsite in Springfield, VA for initial training and periodic in-person requirements
Schedule
Monday–Friday, core hours 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Eastern. Onsite full-time (8 hours/day) during the first month of training; hybrid schedule thereafter with weekly onsite attendance.
