Cutter’s Edge-North is seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair the vehicles and trailers supporting our commercial landscaping operations. This position is responsible for keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for daily field operations. This is a full-time, benefit eligible position that typically works Monday-Friday, 6am-3pm and we pay weekly!
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, and hydraulic issues.
- Perform preventive maintenance on light- and medium-duty trucks, trailers, and related fleet equipment.
- Inspect and repair trailer brakes, bearings, axles, wiring, lighting, tires, hitches, and safety components.
- Complete oil changes, fluid services, tune-ups, battery replacements, and other routine maintenance.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete emergency repairs when needed.
- Maintain accurate service, inspection, parts, and repair records.
- Track preventive-maintenance schedules and identify upcoming service needs.
- Order and maintain an appropriate inventory of commonly used parts and supplies.
- Conduct safety inspections and remove unsafe vehicles or trailers from service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop.
- Coordinate outside repairs and vendor services when necessary.
- Communicate vehicle status and repair timelines to operations leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous experience repairing vehicles and trailers; commercial fleet experience preferred.
- Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and trailer components.
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs with limited supervision.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Ability to safely lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when necessary.
- ASE certifications or related technical training are a plus but not required.
