Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Team Member and Driver to join our dedicated team in providing engaging, meaningful, and enjoyable experiences for our residents. In this vital role, you will plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements such as Alzheimer's and dementia. Your enthusiasm and creativity will help foster a vibrant community atmosphere, promote social interaction, and enhance residents’ overall well-being. Responsibilities
- Conduct activities as assigned.
- Coordinate community service programs which originate from the community
- Transportation for outside trips
- Transport residents to medical and shopping trips/appointments
- Front desk assistance with screening visitors, vendors and ensuring forms are properly filled out
- Cleaning front common areas
- Delivering mail and packages
- Keeping proper vehicle logs and notify management of any routine maintenance that the car and or bus may need or require
- Maintain a log of daily drives and note any special circumstances or events
- Follow established community policies regarding transportation practices
- Monitor gas and fluid levels of all facility vehicles and notify/schedule maintenance and service according to company policy
- Use corporate gas card in compliance with company policy
- Ensure department is in compliance with labor laws
- Administer fair and consistent discipline per company guidelines
- Maintain positive employee relations
- Keep all records up to date
- Plan transportation department work schedules and communicate same to staff
- Ensure vehicles are clean and safe, coordinate maintenance as requested
- Maintain all vehicle logs
- Drive in a safe and respectful manner following all local laws and safety guidelines
- Maintain insurance eligibility with company
- Follow all policies and procedures including driver training documents
- Act as a resource person to front office staff and volunteers
- Maintain all resident records in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as community policy as instructed
- Be familiar with fire and disaster programs. Fight fire as necessary and assist in the evacuation of residents as directed
- Attend meetings as scheduled
- Work with other department heads and administrator to improve employee and resident relations and morale. Practice the dignity and hospitality concepts with residents, families, visitors, community representatives and other employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator
Requirements
- Experience or education (one preferred)
- Two years of full-time experience in a recreational program in a residential or health care environment as a driver
- Licensed or registered by the state of Washington to drive an operating vehicle
- Safety driving course

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
