Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Collections Representative to join our financial services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, conducting debt settlement analysis, and engaging with clients to resolve outstanding balances. Responsibilities
- Initiate and conduct outbound telemarketing and sales calls to clients with overdue accounts, emphasizing positive client engagement and resolution strategies
- Utilize phone etiquette and customer service skills to build rapport, understand client circumstances, and negotiate repayment plans effectively
- Analyze account data using Excel and CRM systems to identify delinquent accounts, assess creditworthiness, and prioritize collection efforts
- Conduct debt relief and consolidation discussions, providing clients with options aligned with their financial goals while ensuring compliance with loan regulations and banking standards
- Perform account reconciliation, data entry, and review of accounts payable/receivable transactions using accounting software and financial tools
- Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, payment agreements, and collection activities in accordance with industry compliance standards
- Collaborate with internal teams on medical collections, revenue cycle management, or other specialized areas requiring knowledge of medical billing, ICD-10 coding, CPT coding, or related terminology
Experience
- Proven experience in collections or credit analysis within financial services
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation) and CRM systems for tracking client interactions
- Excellent negotiation skills combined with a professional phone manner and adherence to compliance guidelines
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations such as banking regulatory compliance, or financial software platforms
- Background in accounting or finance including account analysis, account reconciliation, debits & credits understanding, and revenue cycle management processes
- Ability to analyze complex financial concepts quickly and accurately while maintaining a customer-focused approach
- Prior experience conducting sales calls or customer support in a high-volume environment is highly desirable
