Job Summary
Southwest University is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Information Technology (IT) Support Specialist to provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students. This position is responsible for troubleshooting technology issues, maintaining computer systems, supporting classroom technology, and ensuring the reliable operation of campus IT resources.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for computers, printers, phones, and other technology.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware, software, and user accounts.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues.
- Set up technology for new employees and assist with system access.
- Support classroom technology, audiovisual equipment, and campus events.
- Respond to IT support requests through the ticketing system in a timely manner.
- Perform routine maintenance, software updates, and equipment installations.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and follow university security and confidentiality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- One to three years of IT support or help desk experience preferred.
- Experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, and basic networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout campus as needed.
Pay: From $13.00 per hour
