Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced CNC Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in machining operations, blueprint interpretation, and precision measurement, with the ability to produce high-quality parts that meet strict engineering specifications.
This role requires hands-on experience programming and operating CNC equipment, including multi-axis (4 and 5 axis) routers, and working with G-code to execute accurate machining processes. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for preparing materials, performing test runs, monitoring machine performance, and ensuring finished products meet all required tolerances and quality standards.
A strong focus on safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement is essential. The successful candidate will help maintain optimal machine uptime, support preventive maintenance efforts, and contribute to minimizing production delays while ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.
This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining consistent production quality.
Responsibilities:
A. Overall expectations for the position:
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machine can perform the correct function.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machine.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Sets machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
- Supervise the machine while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Other duties as assigned.
B. Specific responsibilities for maximum results and to avoid typical obstacles:
- Understanding Geometric Code (G-code) programing language.
- Understand the coordinate system, using 4 and 5 axis routers.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawing and work from verbal instructions.
- Ability to use applicable inspection/measurement equipment; micrometers, calipers etc. as required.
- Thorough knowledge of use and application of inspection and test tools and gages to assure part conformance to drawing requirements.
- Uses and interprets appropriate statistical quality data and is able to identify quality problems through use of said data.
- Ability to hold close tolerance and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to identify, analyze and improve existing processes within the company to meet new goals and objectives.
Experience and qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in operating CNC machines in a high-volume production environment
2. Education: Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
3. Essential Skills: Ability to read and understand detailed work orders, engineering process instructions and drawings. Ability to produce high quality parts and materials by programing machines to perform the right operations.
4. Computer Skills: Basic computer skills including MS Office.
5. Communication skills: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
6. Organization: Ability to be highly organized, detail oriented and able to respond to change quickly.
7. Prior experience in manufacturing and machining of aerospace structures is a benefit.
8. Mechanical aptitude and excellent math skills required.
9. Experience with machining composites is a plus
Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. Use hands, fingers, to handle or feel; reach with hand and arms; talk and hear. The associate must frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
