Low Voltage Cable Installation/ Service Technician
Jackson, NJ
Uses skilled techniques to perform low voltage cable installation tasks in building interiors at new construction and built-out sites including open floor plans. The position applies complex measurements, specifications, and instructions. Uses advanced mathematics to plan, measure, lay out low voltage wiring, and programs and services switches and motor group controllers. Understands Low Voltage tie-in to AV or lighting systems.
- Runs and suspends low voltage wire to Code
- Drills Holes in pockets or poke-throughs
- Makes custom length leads, crimps and tests low voltage wire
- Roughs in switch locations and device rings
- Programs/services maintain nurse call systems, patient wander control, CCTV, access control, fire/security systems, paging/sound distribution, indoor/outdoor WiFi systems, automatic doors, and gate systems.
- Interprets complex instructions, sketches, blueprints and wiring schematics.
- Can trouble shoot low voltage electrical system issues.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 40 hours per week and overtime. This position may require long hours and weekend work.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. Three years' experience as a low voltage cable installer.
Demonstrated ability to tie low voltage wiring into nurse call systems, patient wander control, CCTV, access control, fire/security systems, paging/sound distribution, indoor/outdoor WiFi systems, automatic doors, and gate systems. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
