We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Workforce Electrical Training Instructor to lead comprehensive training programs focused on electrical systems and related technical skills. Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging classroom and online courses covering electrical fundamentals, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, automotive diagnostics, welding, plumbing, and other technical skills.
- Design curriculum that aligns with industry needs and incorporates modern educational technologies such as Blackboard and computer-based learning tools.
- Facilitate hands-on training sessions in areas including electrical wiring, maintenance, repair operations (MRO), automotive repair, aircraft maintenance, HVAC systems, welding techniques, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Assess student progress through practical demonstrations and written evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure training content remains current with technological advancements and safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
- Adapt instructional methods to effectively teach students from diverse cultural backgrounds and varying levels of prior experience in technical fields.
- Maintain detailed records of course delivery, student attendance, assessments, and certifications awarded.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching or training in technical fields such as manufacturing, construction, automotive service, HVAC/R, aerospace maintenance or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems combined with expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), hydraulics, HVAC systems (including HVAC/R), welding techniques, plumbing, automotive diagnostics & repair.
- Familiarity with educational technologies including Blackboard or similar online instruction platforms; experience designing courses for adult learners is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum that integrates practical skills with theoretical knowledge; experience in course design is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Technical proficiency in computers and educational technologies used for classroom instruction and remote learning environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations applicable to manufacturing, construction or maintenance settings.
- Prior classroom training experience combined with a strong mechanical aptitude; experience working with post-secondary students preferred.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in electrical work or related fields are a plus; background in welding, automotive repair or aircraft maintenance is advantageous.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
