Duties
- Perform installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to accurately diagnose issues.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within electrical systems.
- Repair mechanical components by utilizing hand tools and mechanical knowledge to restore system functionality efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly during system servicing or replacement.
- Collaborate with clients to provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs, maintenance needs, and system operations clearly.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all service activities, repairs performed, parts used, and system conditions for record-keeping and future reference.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a solid understanding of HVAC system repair and installation processes.
- Construction experience or background in mechanical systems repair is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and building automation controls.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience working with hand tools for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications in HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) are preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; familiarity with <PERSON> drivers is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication abilities to interact professionally with clients.
