The Optician’s responsible for all aspects of the patient optical retail experience. The Optician is accountable for delivery first class service to all patients and visitors, selling and recommending quality products and services.
Key areas of responsibility
Checking out patients including the following:
- Assisting patients with their frame selection
- Taking the appropriate measurements
- Correctly billing the patient for services/materials
- Filing insurance claims
- Ordering contact lenses
- Ordering glasses when insurance requires
- Putting the correct information in computer
- Getting a signed patient release when necessary
- Working with reps to keep boards fully stocked with a variety of quality frames
- Working with reps to keep their numbers in line
- Keeping back stock to a minimum
- Checking boards nightly to make sure they are full and organized
- Checking in new frames and properly entering into computer
Additional Responsibilities:
- Making sure that the Optical Department is running smoothly
- Trouble shooting any optical questions to help resolve patient issues
- Inventory of products
- Organizing seasonal frame displays
- Ensuring that frames are cleaned on a regular schedule
- Other responsibilities assigned by the Office Manager and/or CEO Owner doctor

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
