Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified HVAC Technician to join our elite property maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Your expertise will directly impact the comfort, safety, and air quality of the properties we service. Duties
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diverse HVAC systems, including central AC units, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and commercial rooftop units (RTUs).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, seasonal system tune-ups, filter replacements, and coil cleanings to optimize system efficiency.
- Install new heating, ventilation, and cooling equipment, ensuring proper wiring, ductwork integration, and system calibration.
- Utilize specialized testing tools—such as manifolds, multimeters, leak detectors, and vacuum pumps—to diagnose electrical and mechanical system faults.
- Identify, handle, and recover refrigerants safely and in strict accordance with EPA guidelines and environmental regulations.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals to execute precise repairs and safety checks.
- Use our digital mobile application to track dispatch times, document completed work orders, capture system diagnostic readouts, and trigger fast project sign-offs.
- Collaborate with property managers and building operators to explain system diagnoses, recommend energy-efficient upgrades, and provide clear cost estimates.
- Maintain a well-stocked and highly organized service vehicle with essential parts, tools, and safety gear to ensure high first-time fix rates.
- Follow strict safety protocols on-site, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Skills & Requirements
- Active EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type II/III is highly preferred).
- Proven experience as an HVAC Technician in residential, commercial, or property management environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, combustion systems, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with modern digital HVAC tools, smart thermostats, and building automation control systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical blueprints.
- Familiarity with mobile field service applications, digital work orders, and GPS-tracked dispatching systems.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with a professional attitude when interacting with tenants and property staff.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record to navigate your local service territory.
- Physical capability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, work on rooftops, and navigate tight crawl spaces or mechanical rooms.
- NATE (North American Technician Excellence) or equivalent trade school certification is a major plus.
