Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Psychiatric Physician Assistant, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive mental health care to diverse patient populations. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, managing treatment plans, and providing evidence-based psychiatric services in various settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient units, and telehealth platforms. Your expertise will help foster recovery and resilience among individuals facing mental health challenges.
Duties
- Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations, including intake assessments and vital signs monitoring, to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment needs.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with collaborative practice agreements while adhering to DEA regulations and HIPAA standards for patient confidentiality.
- Administer injections such as botulinum toxin treatments and provide medication management for conditions like depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.
- Conduct physical examinations, mental status exams, and diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals across disciplines—including internal medicine, emergency medicine, infectious disease care, and critical care—to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems to document patient records accurately
- Participate in clinical research or clinical trials related to psychiatric treatments or innovative therapies such as esthetic laser treatments or dermal fillers when applicable.
- Provide telehealth services leveraging telemedicine platforms to extend mental health support remotely while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Assist in triage processes for urgent psychiatric cases and contribute to discharge planning, hospice & palliative medicine initiatives, or post-acute care strategies as needed.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Physician Assistant specializing in psychiatry or behavioral health within hospital or outpatient settings.
- Experince in managing psychaitric emergencies if they come across during the out patient setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems
- Knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with diagnostic test interpretation is preferred.
- Background in hospital psychiatric treatment and out patient treatment as well
- Additional qualifications include telehealth experience

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
