Position Summary:
In support of the Company’s primary and single most important objective which is TO GET AND KEEP PROFITABLE CUSTOMERS, this individual is responsible for developing detailed mechanical and structural designs on a project-to-project basis. Successes of the position are measured via the following key indicators:
- Working safely and meeting all environmental standards of the customer, OSHA, and the employer
- Designing systems and equipment that meet project specifications, satisfy applicable regulatory requirements, remain within budgetary constraints, minimize field installation time, and avoid the need for rework
- Timely and accurate completion of drawings and other related paperwork
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed mechanical and structural designs on a project-by-project basis, including the execution of all design activities
- Create process plant and structural steel skid-mounted unit assembly drawings and plant general arrangement drawings using Autodesk Inventor, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary project team
- Perform structural analysis and part modeling in Autodesk Inventor, maintaining the part library
- Develop part specifications and assembly bills of materials
- Support purchasing and manufacturing teams with activities related to assembly construction
- Develop detailed assembly field installation instructions
- Coordinate activities with the shop to ensure accurate implementation of designs
- Conduct shop inspections and document results
- Demonstrate multi-tasking skills to manage concurrent design and development efforts
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to clarify instructions and coordinate work
- Perform other job-related tasks as requested and follow any additional instructions as needed
Core Competencies (Mandatory):
- Ability to create detailed drawings of assemblies for customer approval and shop construction
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting P&IDs
- Expertise in modeling process piping and structural steel assemblies using Autodesk
- Ability to implement customer piping and other specifications during the design process
- Strong knowledge of process equipment such as pressure vessels, pumps, pipes, valves, fittings, and structural steel shapes
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
- Mechanical Engineering BS degree preferred
- Skilled in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, PID, and 3D modeling
- Excellent computer skills, with a strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, including Frame Generator and Tube & Pipe modules
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Experience:
- Mechanical Engineering: 3 years (Preferred)
