As a Capital Projects Purchasing Specialist, you will support procurement activities for large-scale capital construction projects across Switch's data center portfolio. This role ensures materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently while maintaining alignment with project budgets, schedules, and business objectives.
You will also play a key role in the implementation and ongoing optimization of Oracle Fusion ERP. Working closely with Procurement, Finance, IT, Engineering, and Construction teams, you will help improve purchasing workflows, strengthen project cost tracking, and support scalable procurement processes as Switch continues to grow.
Support the design, configuration, testing, and rollout of Oracle Fusion SCM Procurement modules
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to improve purchasing workflows for capital projects
Manage the purchasing lifecycle for capital construction projects, from requisition through purchase order creation, receipt, and closeout
Utilize Oracle Fusion PPM and SCM modules to manage project costs, purchase requisitions, supplier transactions, and financial reporting
Partner with Project Managers, Engineering, Construction, and Finance teams to align purchasing activities with project schedules and budgets
Validate integration between Procurement, Project Portfolio Management (PPM), and Accounting modules to ensure accurate project cost allocation
Solicit competitive bids and proposals from qualified suppliers
Evaluate pricing, commercial terms, supplier qualifications, and contract compliance
Support vendor contract administration in partnership with Legal and Compliance teams
Monitor purchase orders, supplier performance, delivery schedules, and receiving status to ensure timely material availability
Develop and execute system testing, user acceptance testing, and validation activities for Oracle Fusion enhancements
Create user documentation, training materials, and process documentation for procurement systems
Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency
Strong understanding of purchasing and procurement processes for capital construction projects
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to build productive relationships across Procurement, Engineering, Finance, Construction, and IT teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Interest in process improvement, automation, and technology-enabled procurement
Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service to internal stakeholders
Required
3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience supporting construction, capital projects, or large-scale infrastructure programs
Experience with Oracle Fusion SCM Procurement and Project Portfolio Management (PPM) modules, or Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) equivalent
Understanding of construction contracts, project cost control, and capital budgeting
Experience supporting ERP or supply chain system implementations, testing, and user adoption
Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, supplier sourcing, and procurement best practices
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field
Preferred
Experience supporting mission-critical facilities, data centers, or infrastructure projects
Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP implementations
Experience developing procurement workflows, documentation, and training materials
Familiarity with project accounting and capital project financial reporting
