WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for a compassionate, confident, and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment, possesses exceptional critical thinking skills, and can quickly assess, prioritize, and treat patients with a wide range of medical conditions. This nurse will work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, EMS personnel, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver outstanding emergency care.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using established triage guidelines.

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients with medical emergencies, trauma, and acute illnesses.

Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments safely and accurately.

Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.

Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with emergency procedures and life-saving interventions.

Operate and monitor emergency equipment, including cardiac monitors, defibrillators, and infusion pumps.

Collaborate with EMS, physicians, respiratory therapists, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.

Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, patient safety initiatives, and hospital policies.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Support a collaborative, patient-focused environment while delivering compassionate emergency care.
WHAT WILL HELP YOU STAND OUT
-
Current, unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required or obtained within the required timeframe.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certifications preferred.

Previous Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Acute Care nursing experience preferred.

Strong critical thinking, rapid decision-making, and patient assessment skills.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities.

Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations.

WHAT TO EXPECT

A fast-paced Emergency Department caring for patients of all ages with a wide variety of medical conditions, injuries, and emergencies.

Twelve-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules based on departmental needs.

Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and repositioning patients throughout the shift.

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and other healthcare-related hazards; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided.

Ability to safely lift and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and patient handling equipment.

Must successfully complete all pre-employment requirements, including a background check, drug screen, and any applicable health screenings.
