American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit position in an Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit, with ACLS and NIHSS certifications required and a high likelihood of charge and preceptor responsibilities each shift.

18-bed Intermediate Neurosciences & ENT Unit within a hospital setting, including 4 epilepsy monitoring beds
-
Patient population includes stroke, tumors, epilepsy, spine injury, neuromuscular and neurodegenerative conditions, neurotrauma, CNS infections, and ENT malignancies

Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)

Every other weekend (EOW) required

Every other holiday (EOH) required

No on-call requirements

13-week contract

Active NC RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, and NIHSS

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required

Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred

Two professional references required for consideration

Candidates should be prepared to serve in a charge nurse or preceptor role on a near-daily basis

Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process
-
Responsibilities include complex patient assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and discharge planning

Unit is part of a nationally recognized neurosciences program delivering collaborative, compassionate care
-
A background check and drug screen are required; candidates should be prepared to complete the drug screen within 24 hours of commitment

BSN or MSN preferred but not required
