American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a MO or compact license, at least 2 years of recent specialty experience, and night shift availability.

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
-
30-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 29 patients
-
Patient population includes general intermediate, sepsis/infection, wounds, CHF, cardiac arrhythmias, AMI, CVA/TIA, altered mental status, ETOH withdrawal, SI, general post-op, ortho, urology, and GI bleed cases

Required skills include telemetry monitoring, cardiac telemetry interpretation and management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central/PICC/peripheral line care and management, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management (no titration), PCA, chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac), HFNC, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube care, and isolation precautions

Charting is done in Epic; experience is required

Floating required within the service line and to sister facilities as needed — both Kansas and Missouri RN licenses (or compact equivalent) must be in hand due to potential cross-state floating

4–6 weekend shifts required every 6 weeks

No on-call requirements

Navy scrubs required

Active MO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand; both Kansas and Missouri licenses (or compact) are required due to floating requirements

Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required, including at least 1 full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gap greater than 90 days

Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted

2 professional references required: at least one must be supervisor level or above, the second may be a charge RN; all references must be from someone who has worked with the candidate within the past year

SSN must be provided for consideration

13-week contract

First-time travelers are welcome to apply; travel experience is preferred

RTO is capped at 7 days for the duration of the contract; RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of consideration

Travel partners are not accepted for this position

Pre-start compliance modules are required (approximately 10–15 hours total) and must be completed prior to the start date

Candidates must pass a drug screening; a diluted or positive result that cannot be cleared will result in cancellation, with a 6-month waiting period before reapplying
