Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse environment. Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload materials using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and crane systems while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Pick and prepare orders accurately using RF scanners and manual methods to meet customer specifications and shipping deadlines.
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks to move large or heavy items efficiently within the warehouse.
- Manage inventory by conducting regular cycle counts, updating records, and ensuring proper storage practices are maintained.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and preparing outgoing deliveries for dispatch.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by properly stacking pallets, securing loads, and ensuring safety protocols are consistently followed.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow, improve safety procedures, and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling.
- Skilled in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes, and heavy lifting machinery.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems and RF scanner technology for accurate order processing.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while adhering to OSHA safety protocols.
- Basic math skills for measuring quantities, calculating weights or dimensions, and verifying shipments.
- Experience in warehouse operations including load & unload procedures and order picking processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on safety compliance and efficient workflow management.
