Established in 2007, and with a main office and laboratory in Alpharetta, GeoWerks has experienced much growth and is now expanding its service area from Metro Atlanta to locations throughout the southeast.
Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Materials Testing Field Technician for the Atlanta metropolitan area. This role involves unsupervised on-site testing and inspection of construction materials to ensure compliance with contract documents, under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager.
Key Duties

Field Testing: Conduct QC tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and masonry per ASTM, AASHTO, and ACI standards.

Sample Collection: Collect and analyze material samples according to project specifications.

Inspection: Perform quality control inspections to verify adherence to contract and safety standards.

Documentation: Maintain detailed, accurate records of observations and prepare technical reports.

Collaboration: Coordinate with construction crews, engineers, and project managers to resolve quality issues.

Lab Support: Assist with laboratory sample preparation and analysis when required.
Qualifications & Requirements

Certifications: Current ACI Certification – Grade 1.

Experience: Familiarity with soil density testing; prior field or laboratory testing experience is preferred.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent; ability to read project plans and specifications.

Skills: Strong English communication, numeracy proficiency, and basic Microsoft Word/Excel skills.

Driving: Valid State Driver’s license with a clean driving record (no DUIs or Super Speeders) for company vehicle use.

Physical: Ability to lift 50 pounds above the waist and possess eyesight capable of driving and executing tasks.

Traits: Bright, responsible, and able to work independently in the field.
Company vehicle is provided with this position. Pay structure is based on experience. Insurance is available upon request. Career specific training provided by company. Most work is out of doors.
Hourly rates typically range from $23/hr to $29/hr. As this is outdoor work, the schedule is weather dependent and can vary. Management can be flexible with school schedules.
We are a Drug-Free Employer. Applicants must be able to pass a background check, drug testing, and have a good driving record. A company vehicle and associated fuel card will be provided for all field assignments, pending approval of DMV records.
