Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laser Table Operator to join our manufacturing team on a second shift from 3pm-10pm . In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise metal components. Your expertise will ensure high-quality output, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety standards. Responsibilities
- Set up CNC laser cutting machines by selecting appropriate cutting parameters, martial type and programming based on detailed blueprints and specifications.
- Operate laser table equipment efficiently, monitoring the cutting process to ensure precision and quality throughout production runs, with absolute minimal down time between sheets.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to accurately produce parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser machinery, including calibration, cleaning, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Maintain accurate production records, logs, and reports for traceability and process improvement purposes.
- Maintain organization of materials, sheet remnants, consumables in order to minimize down time and maintain efficient workflow
- Debur necessary parts, stack and organize parts on to pallets according to job traveler for next shop process.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks such as welding, sheet metal work, or assembly as needed to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- 1 year experience operating CNC laser cutting machines or similar fabrication equipment such as plasma cutters or CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings effectively.
- Familiarity with tooling setup, calibration procedures, and routine maintenance of CNC machinery.
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools confidently.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal fabrication, pressing (press brake machine), stamping presses, or electrical discharge machining is a plus.
- Must have familiarity with nesting software such as SigmaNEST, CypNest, TubesT, or NestingWorks.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances accurately.
- Experience with forklift operation or crane handling is advantageous for material movement within the shop floor.
