About the Role:
The Warehouse Worker II plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse within the transportation and warehousing industry. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklifts (certification preferred).
- Basic math skills and ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and work instructions.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift operator certification.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours including overtime or weekends if required.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations to maximize space and accessibility.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment accurately and efficiently.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the warehouse to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks as needed to support transportation schedules.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve warehouse processes and resolve issues.
