We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth operations within the medical office and supporting healthcare professionals in delivering quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures.
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar effectively.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding services offered.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with insurance processing.
- Collect payments for services rendered and maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage electronic health records.
- Assist with medical collections as needed, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
- Bilingual capabilities are a plus to enhance communication with diverse patient populations.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff members.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Experience working in a Optometry Practice setting is an advantage but not required.
