Duties
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of utility electrical construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Oversee project scope development, including detailed construction estimating and resource allocation using industry-standard software such as ProCore, HeavyBid, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office.
- Review construction drawings, schematics, and blueprints for electrical systems to verify accuracy and compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and local electrical building codes.
- Manage project contracts, permits, and regulatory compliance during all phases of construction, including permitting and NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) standards.
- Coordinate construction schedules with subcontractors and internal teams to optimize workflow and minimize delays.
- Conduct thorough construction drawing reviews and system design assessments to ensure technical accuracy before installation.
- Monitor project costs through effective cost management practices; track progress against budgets using Primavera P6 or similar project management software.
- Lead safety initiatives by ensuring all work complies with electrical safety standards and NFPA 70E guidelines.
- Facilitate communication between clients, stakeholders, contractors, and team members to ensure clarity on project objectives and deliverables.
- Oversee construction site activities, including electrical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and site inspections to uphold quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing large-scale electrical or utility construction projects with a strong background in electrical engineering or related field.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, installation practices, and system schematics.
- Proficiency with project management tools such as ProCore, Primavera P6 (or Primavera), HeavyBid, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling software.
- Strong understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 compliance requirements, and local electrical building codes.
- Demonstrated ability to review construction drawings and schematics accurately for technical integrity.
- Experience in the permitting phase of utility projects including regulatory submissions and approvals.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively on-site and remotely while maintaining safety standards.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Construction site experience with a focus on electrical systems installation and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills for clear coordination among clients, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.
