National Enrichment Group is seeking a Mental Health Consultant to provide mental health services for our Early Head Start and Head Start partnering agencies in Arkansas.
The Mental Health Consultant (MHC) will work with the agency providing support while focusing on knowledge and practices that improve early childhood interventions to enhance positive mental, behavioral, communications, social-emotional and interpersonal development of infants, toddler and preschoolers.
Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- MHC will work with the staff to support social-emotional development
- MHC’s work is guided by evidence
- Review annual age appropriate, evidence-based social-emotional and development health screenings tools
- Referral support and bi-directional tracking with communications to administrative team
- Document case notes
- Provide parent workshops, as requested by the program, in-person or virtual
- Conduct classroom observations
- Review Developmental Screening results to make necessary internal and external special education and mental health referrals as necessary
- Meet with management, staff and caregivers as needed
- Create Individualized and Behavior Modification Plans for Children with atypical, cognitive, developmental and emotional behaviors
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings
- Provide professional development and/or training on evidence-based practices and current mental health topics
- Provide other services as required by the program
Reports to: Clinical Director of Operations
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work - BSW, LMSW, LCSW (ideally licensed in AR)
- Experience in managing care for children/youth
- Working knowledge of Special Education laws, Civil Rights laws, ADA and HIPAA laws
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including oral and written
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational and follow up skills
- Overall positive demeanor and warm attitude with ability to effectively engage children
- Proficient in Google Email, Docs, Calendar; MS Word
- Experience working with Early Intervention, Early Childhood and knowledge of Federal Head Start and Early Head Start Standards.
Hours/Schedule and Compensation:
- Must be available to make on-site visits during business hours (9am - 4pm)

- 90+% of work will be on-site and will less than 10% will be remote

Pay: $45.00 - $60.00 per hour
