Position Overview
A+UP Charter Schools is seeking a passionate, student-centered, and highly organized Special Education Case Manager to support scholars in grades 6–11. This role combines instructional support, intervention services, and special education case management responsibilities to ensure all scholars receive the individualized academic and behavioral support necessary to thrive.
The ideal candidate believes deeply in the potential of every child and is committed to building strong relationships with scholars, families, faculty, and service providers. This individual will provide direct support to students in both classroom and small-group settings while overseeing compliance and coordination related to scholars’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required. Special Education certification or eligibility for certification is preferred.

Purpose and Explanation of Role
The Special Education Case Manager serves as a member of the professional faculty of A+UP Charter Schools and works collaboratively with staff, families, and service providers to drive academic achievement and positive school culture for A+UP scholars.
This role includes both instructional and compliance responsibilities, including:
- Providing in-class support and intervention services
- Supporting instructional accommodations and modifications
- Developing and managing IEP documentation
- Scheduling and facilitating ARD meetings
- Coordinating services with related service providers and families
- Monitoring student progress toward IEP goals

Primary ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & Instruction
- Provide direct instructional support and intervention services to scholars receiving special education services
- Support classroom instruction through co-teaching, accommodations, and individualized assistance
- Collaborate with Learning Coaches to ensure student success academically and behaviorally
- Monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Provide meaningful feedback to scholars regarding academic performance and expectations
Case Management & Compliance
- Develop, manage, and maintain compliant Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Schedule, organize, and facilitate ARD meetings
- Coordinate with families, teachers, diagnosticians, counselors, and related service providers
- Ensure implementation of accommodations, modifications, and special education services
- Maintain accurate and timely special education documentation and records
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements
School Culture & Collaboration
- Create and maintain a positive school culture aligned with A+UP values
- Communicate professionally and collaboratively with scholars, families, and colleagues
- Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
- Model professionalism, positivity, and a growth mindset in all interactions
Outcomes
- 75% of students will achieve Approaches Grade Level or higher on STAAR assessments or meet/exceed annual MAP growth expectations
- Scholars will receive all instructional supports and services required by their IEPs
- Scholars will demonstrate measurable academic and social-emotional growth
- Families and staff will experience clear, timely, and collaborative communication regarding student progress and support

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required
- Special Education certification preferred
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, faculty, and service providers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Travel Requirements
To support the Anytime/Anywhere learning model at A+UP, the Special Education Case Manager may participate in and support mobile learning experiences and community-based instruction aligned with the mission of the school.
The employee must be physically able to travel by foot and public transportation as needed for these learning experiences.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive with surrounding districts and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
A+UP participates in the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program and frequently meets or exceeds allotments offered by neighboring districts. Additional details regarding compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.

Pay: $62,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
