Blowing Rock Country Club is hiring for the 2026 season:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards at Blowing Rock Country Club (BRCC). They work in various stations, assist with food prep, and ensure a high level of food presentation and consistency. The Line Cook must follow food safety regulations and work efficiently under pressure.
This position is classified into three tiers based on experience, skill level, and responsibilities, with the hourly rate reflective of the level at which the employee is hired.
Line Cook 1 (Entry Level):
Experience: 0-1 year of kitchen experience.
- Responsibilities: Primarily focused on prep work, basic cooking techniques, and maintaining station cleanliness.
- Skills: Able to follow basic recipes, assist higher-level cooks, and work efficiently in a team environment.
Line Cook 2 (Intermediate Level):
- Experience: 1-3 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Responsibilities: Responsible for executing dishes at a specific station, working independently during service, and assisting in food preparation.
- Skills: Knowledge of multiple stations, ability to handle moderate kitchen volume, and proper food safety practices.
Line Cook 3 (Advanced Level):
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen.
- Responsibilities: Expected to lead a station, train junior cooks, manage mise en place, and ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of all stations, ability to work under high-pressure service, and mentor lower-tier cooks.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a professional kitchen.
- Ability to follow recipes and prepare food to exact specifications.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and safety procedures.
- Team-oriented mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
This is a seasonal position. Blowing Rock Country Club is open April 23 until October 31.
We pay a solid hourly wage, provide complimentary employee meals, uniforms and offer a Scholarship Program through Appalachian State University.
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
