We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Communications & Outreach Coordinator to amplify our organization’s voice and foster meaningful engagement with diverse audiences. The Communications & Outreach Coordinator supports WWGT’s outreach, communications, marketing, participant engagement, and storytelling efforts across organizational programs and initiatives. This role assists with content development, community engagement, branding, media coordination, event support, and administrative activities to help promote organizational visibility, participant education, and program impact.
Communications & Outreach Coordinator Responsibilities
Communications & Outreach Responsibilities (approx. 50%)
- Identify and pursue opportunities to share program updates, seasonal reminders, educational materials, organizational announcements, and upcoming events with enrolled and interested program participants, WWGT partners, and community residents.
- Create, coordinate, and distribute mailed and digital communications including newsletters, email campaigns, social media content, outreach materials, event reminders, seasonal recaps, holiday messaging and other organizational communications.
- Assist with participant engagement, community outreach activities, public awareness campaigns, and communications related to organizational programs and initiatives.
- Attend and support community events, outreach activities, meetings, trainings, and program functions, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
Media & Content Collection Responsibilities (approx. 25%)
- Take photographs and collect recorded interviews (audio, video and/or written) during events, outreach activities, and program operations with participants, staff partners, and attendees.
- Review participant media release documentation and coordinate interviews and media opportunities before, during, and after program participation, retrofits, or related activities to demonstrate quality of life improvements and other areas of organizational impact.
- Coordinate with program staff, project managers, community ambassadors, contracted services and participants to identify timely opportunities to capture and document program activities and impact through photo, video, audio and written storytelling.
- Collaborate with media staff, including webmaster and external vendors, to share captured media for websites, reports, newsletters, social media, presentations, grant reporting, and other communication platforms in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized records of photographs, media releases, communication materials, outreach activities, and marketing assets in accordance with organizational procedures.
Branding & Marketing Support (approx. 10%)
- Design, coordinate, and assist with branded materials and promotional items to support organizational programming, including but not limited to tablecloths, yard signs, pens, folders, posters, tote bags, apparel, presentation material, and outreach collateral.
- Assist with maintaining organizational branding consistency across printed materials, digital communications, outreach campaigns, and public-facing materials.
Administrative & Organizational Support (approx. 15%)
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and sensitivity when handling participant information, photographs, interviews, and organizational materials.
- Work collaboratively with internal staff, contractors, consultants, community partners, and external vendors to support organizational communication and outreach goals.
- Assist with outreach, communications, marketing, branding, event logistics, participant engagement, administrative coordination, reporting support, related organizational initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other duties, projects, and job-related responsibilities reasonably assigned by WWGT leadership in support of organizational operations, programs, communications, community engagement, and strategic initiatives.
Communications & Outreach Coordinator Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field.
- 2-5 years' experience in communications, community organizing or related fields.
- Advanced proficiency in communications, community engagement, photography, and graphic design
- Excellent communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.

Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
