Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Day Matron/Porter to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our premises. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will ensure that our facilities are well-maintained, hygienic, and presentable at all times. Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across various areas, including floors, corridors, restrooms, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment for staff and visitors.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling duties in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, or equipment as needed.
- Maintain facilities by performing routine custodial tasks such as dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitation to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with general maintenance duties including minor repairs, painting residential areas when required, and ensuring the overall upkeep of the premises.
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safety protocol guidelines to prevent accidents or damage.
- Support customer service efforts by providing friendly assistance to visitors or staff members when necessary.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and custodial equipment are properly stored, maintained, and replenished regularly.
Experience
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial setting with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling safety procedures and sanitation standards essential for maintaining hygienic environments..
- Customer service skills that enable positive interactions with staff and visitors alike.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations and facility maintenance is highly desirable.
