Elmwood Village Charter Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Instructional Assistant to join our team. The Instructional Assistant (IA) plays a vital role in fostering an inclusive, supportive, and academically enriching environment. Working closely with lead teachers, the IA helps implement lesson plans, provides small-group support, and assists in managing the classroom to ensure every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Instructional Support: Facilitate small-group instruction and provide one-on-one assistance to students, particularly in literacy and numeracy, as directed by the classroom teacher.

Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a positive, orderly, and engaging classroom environment that aligns with EVCS’s culture and behavioral expectations.

Data & Assessment: Support the teacher in tracking student progress, collecting data during assessments, and observing student learning patterns to inform instructional adjustments.

Collaborative Planning: Participate in planning and data analysis meetings with grade level teams.

Student Supervision: Supervise students during non-instructional times (e.g., arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess, and transitions) to ensure safety and adherence to school policies.

Resource Preparation: Assist in the preparation and organization of instructional materials, bulletin boards, and classroom resources.

Education: Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred).

Certification: Assistant Teacher Certificate, New York State Teaching Certification or teacher certification candidates preferred.

Experience: Previous experience in an urban school setting or a charter environment is highly valued.

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. (Salary range $27,000-$32,000)
