About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to oversee workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory programs within a manufacturing environment. This position partners with leaders throughout the organization to strengthen safety initiatives, maintain compliance with applicable regulations, and promote a culture centered on continuous improvement, employee safety, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations
- Oversee environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, hazardous waste programs, and other compliance activities
- Coordinate new hire safety orientation along with ongoing employee safety and regulatory training
- Organize facility inspections, compliance audits, and safety meetings while identifying opportunities to improve workplace safety
- Maintain emergency response procedures, evacuation plans, and facility preparedness programs
- Manage chemical inventories and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) documentation
- Support and maintain ISO management systems and related compliance initiatives
- Monitor contractor and vendor safety performance to ensure compliance with company standards
- Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions
- Conduct job hazard analyses, risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and management of change reviews for equipment, process, and facility updates
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Quality to integrate HSE best practices into day-to-day operations
- Support sustainability initiatives that improve environmental performance and reduce waste
- Maintain organized compliance records and prepare the facility for internal and external regulatory audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of Health, Safety & Environmental experience in a manufacturing environment
- At least 2 years of experience leading or managing HSE programs
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and workplace safety practices
- Experience supporting or maintaining ISO management systems
- Experience conducting incident investigations, risk assessments, and corrective action programs
- Knowledge of hazardous waste management, environmental permitting, and chemical safety programs
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or similar certifications are preferred
- Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, SDS management, or multi-site manufacturing operations is a plus
- Occasional travel required
Pay: $75,843.72 - $91,338.67 per year
