Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Mobile Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and industrial machinery to ensure optimal operational performance. Your expertise will help keep our fleet and equipment running smoothly, supporting various construction, agricultural, and industrial projects. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and tractor-trailers using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, and hydraulic system servicing.
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific operational needs.
- Inspect and repair diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, HVAC units, shocks & struts, and electrical components to ensure safety compliance and optimal performance.
- Use heavy equipment operation skills to test machinery post-repair and perform alignment or calibration procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on repairs performed, and follow safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Assist with assembly and disassembly of large equipment components during major repairs or upgrades while practicing proper heavy lifting techniques.
Qualifications
- Proven mechanic experience with heavy mobile equipment or industrial machinery; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics systems, transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension components, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; familiar with schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, cranes or similar machinery is a plus.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and automotive repair equipment.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately; strong problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients when needed.
- Physically capable of performing heavy lifting tasks safely; comfortable working in various environmental conditions.
