The College of Idaho invites applications for part-time adjunct instructors to teach clinical and
counseling psychology courses in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
We especially seek active practitioners with interest in preparing undergraduate students to
pursue careers in mental health and related fields. Additionally, we seek candidates who share
the College’s commitment to creating an inclusive academic community through their teaching.
The Adjunct Instructor is a part-time non-tenure track position with teaching as the primary
responsibility. Courses are taught in-person on The College of Idaho campus in Caldwell. Class
times are available M-W or T-Th mornings, afternoons, and evenings. The psychology
department supports instructors' professional development with collaborative mentorship and
shared resources for effective undergraduate teaching. Successful applicants will teach a Fall
2026 course in psychopathology or a Spring 2027 course in counseling psychology. These
courses support the psychology department curriculum that includes a B.A. Psychology major, a
B.S. Psychological Science major, and pre-professional specializations in Clinical and
Counseling Psychology, Human Development, and Social Services and Social Work.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or a doctoral degree in psychology or a related field. Advanced ABD
candidates will be considered.
- Graduate coursework in clinical and counseling psychology topics, such as
psychopathology/abnormal psychology or counseling psychology
- Experience assessing and treating mental, emotional and behavioral disorders; a current
professional certification or license is highly desirable
- Experience as an instructor in a professional setting such as continuing education or intern
supervision; college-level teaching experience is highly desirable
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as of the expected hire date and
throughout the date of the contract without sponsorship from the College.
