Scoot Education partners with public, charter, private, independent, and faith-based institutions across the area for their staffing needs. We have opportunities for experienced individuals eager to fill the critical role of a School Psychologist in schools across the San Francisco.
Pay Range: Up To $115/hour, pay varies by certification, school, and assignment.
Qualifications:
- Basic Skills Requirement (see https://teachinla.co/BSR for details).
- A minimum of a Master’s degree from an -accredited institution of higher education.
- Hold a California Pupil Personnel Services Credential authorizing services as a School Psychologist.
What you’ll do:
Assessment
- In accordance with state and federal law, conduct comprehensive, school-based evaluations, including but not limited to initial and triennial psychoeducational evaluations, annual reviews, manifestation determinations, educationally related mental health services evaluations, functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, and 504 evaluations, using evidence-based, valid and reliable measures and practices
- Clearly present assessment findings and recommendations orally and in writing to all relevant stakeholders
Consultation
- Consult with school staff to facilitate and maintain exceptional learning environments for students
- Consult with parents and guardians to provide community-based referrals and support optimal student learning and growth outside of school
- Collaboration
- Collaborate with school- and community-based providers (with appropriate release(s) of information) for the benefit of students
Counseling
- Provide school-based counseling services in alignment with IEP goals using data- and evidence-based practices
- When necessary, assess for student risk of harm to self or others, document assessment findings (always ensuring student safety), document safety plan(s), and communicate risk and safety planning with relevant stakeholders
- In coordination with clinical director, when necessary, refer students to higher level(s) of care and support re-entry to school
