As a Residential Route Driver, you'll safely operate residential waste collection vehicles while providing reliable service to the communities we serve. Every route you complete helps deliver the Best in Service experience our customers count on.
What You'll Do
- Safely operate residential waste collection vehicles on assigned routes.
- Collect residential waste and recycling according to scheduled routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Operate hydraulic controls and automated lifting equipment safely.
- Navigate residential neighborhoods while maintaining safe driving practices.
- Exit and enter the truck frequently throughout the workday.
- Move containers manually when necessary.
- Complete route documentation accurately.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and supervisors.
- Report vehicle maintenance concerns and safety issues promptly.
- Represent Best Way Disposal professionally while serving customers.
- Follow DOT regulations, company policies, and all safety procedures.
What You Need
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid Class B CDL or higher.
- Acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Certificate.
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screening and company testing requirements.
- Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles in residential neighborhoods.
- Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, pulling, pushing, and moving containers.
- Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
Preferred
- One year of commercial driving experience.
- Previous residential waste collection or commercial driving experience.
- Experience operating automated collection vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and vehicle inspections.
